The conference will host a set of thematic, practitioner-led workshops that will provide attendees an opportunity to learn about and discuss specific topics with a smaller group. The workshops will provide further demonstration of--and prompt the further development of--techniques, strategies, and ideas discussed throughout the day.
Tamara Bekefi is the founder and principal of Daedalus Strategic Advising, a firm focused on the strategic management of corporate social, environmental and political risk and innovation.
Previously she was a UN Industrial Development (UNIDO) Research Fellow and program manager at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government. With expertise in sustainability, public-private partnerships, and strategic management, Tamara has worked with Fortune 500 companies, industry organizations, social investment firms, foundations, and non-profits.
Author of numerous papers, articles, reports, and management guidelines, Tamara has lectured at leading universities and corporate forums. She has a Masters degree in international business and political economy from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy (Tufts University), a BA (summa cum laude) from McGill University, and was a Soros Foundation Fellow in the Czech Republic.
Tanya Hoke is a risk management consultant with over seven years of experience in investigative research and risk analysis. Her clients include hedge funds, international consulting firms, and political risk advisory firms. Prior to founding Belem Group in 2011, Tanya was a Senior Consultant in the Business Intelligence practice of Control Risks Group, where she managed multinational projects in support of due diligence and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act investigations, helping clients to identify potential business, legal, and reputational risks prior to proceeding with high-value investments. Tanya holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Swarthmore College and a Master of International Business degree from the Fletcher School at Tufts University. She is a Certified Fraud Examiner and a licensed Private Investigator in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Munish Puri is the founder of Presearch Consulting. He previously worked for Recorded Future, which aggregates and visualizes forecasts from the web and social media. Recently, he has worked for The Carter Center in Liberia and consulted independently on political risk, international business strategy, and social media in New York, London, and Johannesburg. He has previously worked in technology in San Francisco, nuclear policy in New Delhi, and security policy in DC. Munish is a graduate of the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.
Meredith Wilson is a Political-Security Risk and Intelligence Advisor to executive management and government with years of experience in international environments, the energy sector, major corporations and the US intelligence community. Ms. Wilson began her international career in Europe and Asia-Pacific working in industries as diverse as mining and telecoms. While living in the region and observing the impacts of the Asian financial crisis in 1998, Ms. Wilson developed a strong interest in the interplay between global economics, politics, and security. Subsequently, Ms. Wilson lived in Vietnam and Malaysia and worked for the US Defense Intelligence Agency. In 2007 she moved to the private sector to build a strategic security intelligence program at ConocoPhillips - examining complex political and security issues impacting the company's operations globally and assessing political -security risk in new markets of business interest. Subsequently she worked in regulatory affairs before moving on to Kosmos Energy to implement and develop their Political Risk Program. She served as a business intelligence advisor to the National Intelligence Officer for Science and Technology and has provided briefings to a number of high ranking individuals in the USG and US military. She is a cofounder of the Private Sector Intelligence Council (PSIC).
Meredith specializes in the geo-politics of oil and energy related issues and their impact on companies with broad experience in Southeast Asia, North and West Africa, the Middle East and North and South America.
